Have you been searching for the ultimate, personal, actually practical knitting diary — your yarns, accessories and projects, organized, intuitive, ready to use, all in one simple and reliable place? Hurray — you just found it!

I'd been searching for an app like this for a long time, with no luck — so I simply had to build it myself. And now I want to show it to you. Add it to your phone or tablet's home screen so it works as an app — on its own in a browser it wouldn't be fully functional.

My priority was keeping your data safe — no sharing of information, no cookies, the option to work offline, no public profile. Just your own cosy, safe, mohair-soft space — where you're the author, and you never lose track of your projects, whether they're cast on the needles, still just on your mind, or only a hallucination you don't want to forget.

Your whole stash in order — and it tracks the grams. Skeins reincarnate into sweaters, hats and socks, and your leftovers stay accurate to the gram. Works best if you keep it tidy: new skeins go in when they come home.

Every project keeps its own diary page: the yarn it ate, the needles it borrowed, notes, photos and dates. Mark it finished and the grams quietly leave your stash — while the piece itself settles into your gallery of finished projects, photos and all, ready to be admired.

Every needle, hook and cable in one inventory — and because projects borrow them, you always know what's free and what's busy. Techniques get their own pages too: photos, steps and notes — your personal knitting encyclopedia, growing with every project.

Privacy

We literally cannot read your data.

Knitter's Library stores everything on your device. When you sync between your phone and tablet, the data is end-to-end encrypted with a key only you have. The relay server we run sees only encrypted bytes — even we can't look at your stash. Knitting is your private, comfortable, cosy place — it should not be compromised by collecting your data.

Who's behind it

Built by one person, for one knitter.

Knitter's Library is made by Veronika, who loves to knit — and the whole app is built around her vision. The rule is simple: nothing is published unless it's useful and safe. That's why there's no clutter, no paywalls, and no account you have to create.

Knitter's Library is free, and we'd love to keep it that way — so that even those who can't afford to pay can still use it. But if it's earned a place in your knitting world, and you're able to, please support us so we can keep it alive and keep making it better. The “Support us” button takes you to Ko-fi (a safe creator-support service) — tap “Tip” and choose whether to support us once or monthly. You can symbolically send us:
